The Ghost and Mrs. Muir by R.A. Dick

I don’t have any idea how many times I have watched the film The Ghost and Mrs. Muir .   Whenever I come across it I always have to stop and watch at least a few minutes.   It does not matter where the action is in the film, I have to watch.   The funny thing is, that with as many times I have done this, I have rarely ever watched the film from the beginning.   In fact, usually I’m not anywhere near the beginning.   Somehow I have seen the end a lot, but how the story starts I have probably only seen two or three times.   This might be part of the reason why I was so excited when I saw the book The Ghost and Mrs. Muir in the Bas Bleu catalog.   Since I have a hard time watching the film from beginning to end, at least now I would be able to read it.   Also, I could find out how similar the film was to the book.   Some adaptations are really good, while with others it is hard to tell the book and film are related at all.                       Mrs. Lucy Muir is a w

Trees

The other day I saw something really said.   I was in the car going along a road that I have been on countless times and saw a huge batch of trees had been knocked down.   The trees were knocked down so recently that they were still lying on the ground.   I could not believe what I was seeing.   Those trees had been on that road forever and now they were left on the ground as though they were nothing.   I tried to find out why these trees were taken down, but I couldn’t find anything conclusive.   The only thing I can do is hope they were taken down for an actual reason and not simply because they were in someone’s way.   Somehow I don’t think I’ll be that lucky.                            This is not the first time something like this has happened.   Unfortunately it is happening more and more frequently.   There is one building in particular I can think of that stands on a spot that used to be all trees.   That building, probably a decade old, if not more, still

Liv and Maddie

I am completely surprised that my desire for tame is not yet over.   Usually these streaks don’t last this long.   I can feel it starting to wane a bit, but there are some things I am still holding onto.   One of those things is the TV show Liv and Maddie .   I mentioned this show when I wrote about the Disney Channel , and since then my interest in it has grown.   Why, I’m not fully sure.   As I said, usually by now I would be back to my more dark things which is my norm.   There is just something about Liv and Maddie that keeps having me tune in.   While I figure out what that thing is, I will enjoy the show.                 Liv Rooney (Dove Cameron) has returned to her home in Stevens Point, WI after spending a few years in Hollywood starring in a TV show.   While away, her twin sister Maddie (also Dove Cameron) became a star basketball player, which is the complete opposite of Liv.   Her interests lie in acting and fashion, and nothing to do with sports.   Thi

Girl Meets World

Since I’ve started this chain of the Disney Channel and Boy Meets World I figured I should finish it off with Girl Meets World .   Set years after Boy Meets World ended, Girl Meets World follows the life of Cory’s (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s (Danielle Fishel) daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard).   She is in middle school and experiencing all that comes with being that age.   One of the biggest things she is going through is having her first crush on a boy.   Lucas (Peyton Meyer) is a transfer student from Texas and at first Riley can hardly even say hi to him.   Over time they become good friends, which deepens their feelings for each other but also makes them more confusing.                 Alongside Riley through all the ups and downs of life is her best friend, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter).   She is quite the opposite of Riley who tries to see the happiness and the positive in things.   Instead, Maya is cynical about life.   She has a hard time seeing the lightne
