The Little Couple

I will start by saying I watch The Little Couple sporadically.   Sometimes there are things on across from it or I don’t know that it’s even on.   I also came to this reality series late in the game.   There are many episodes I have not seen, especially from the early seasons.   Other episodes I have found when it was part way over and I was only able to catch the end.   I’m always thrilled when I see a full episode.   The thing is, no matter how much or how little of an episode I see, I usually find myself glued to the show once I come across it.   The reason this happens is all because of the relationship between the two stars, Dr. Jen Arnold and Bill Klein.                    Jen and Bill are like most married couples.   They have jobs, kids, pets, and a house.   The only big difference is both Jen and Bill have forms of dwarfism which make them smaller than average adults.   Some things in their house and in their life have to be adjusted in consideration of thei

A Royal Christmas

When I first saw the commercial for A Royal Christmas on the Hallmark Channel, I mistook it for something else completely.   I thought it was going to be yet another take-off on Prince William’s and Duchess Kate’s story.   When I saw the starring actress, I thought she was the same person who starred in a movie I don’t particularly like.   I was wrong on both fronts.   This is what happens when I watch commercials out of the corner of my eye and while doing something else at the same time.   While the movie is about a royal and a commoner, it is not Kate’s and Williams’ story.   Also the lead actress is Lacey Chabert, who I really like and watch a lot of her movies.   Once I found out she was in it (thanks to my mother) I decided to watch, and I’ve been looking for repeat airings ever since.                           Emily (Lacey Chabert) and Leo (Stephen Hagan) have been dating for awhile and everything is going very well.   They love each other and enjoy spend

The Nine Lives of Christmas

Finally!   Someone has made a Christmas movie about cats.   Every year there is a bunch about dogs, but I can’t think of any that are about cats.   Usually they’re portrayed as the enemy or mean, which are terrible stereotypes.   It’s about time someone showed how great cats can be.                              Firefighter Zachary Stone (Brandon Routh) would not call himself a cat person, but when he sees one being harassed by a dog, he feels compelled to save it.   Once he chases the dog away, Zachary thinks his time with the cat is over.   He does not expect it to follow him into his house.   When the cat does, Zachary agrees to let the cat stay there until he can reach its owner.   There is contact information on the cat’s collar as well as his name, Ambrose, but when Zachary reaches out, he finds Ambrose’s owner has died.   Not sure what else to do with Ambrose, Zachary decides to keep him until he can find a more suitable owner.                 There is just

What's Cooking?

I find it sad that Thanksgiving has become such a forgotten holiday.   In some ways Thanksgiving doesn’t even exist anymore except to talk about Black Friday sales and football.   Christmas specials and music begin the day after Halloween, bypassing Thanksgiving all together.   There are very few movies centered around Thanksgiving.   Maybe they will start there in the plot in order to lead up to the Christmas finale, but an actual movie about Thanksgiving is rare.   This might be part of the reason I like the film What’s Cooking? so much.   The plot celebrates a holiday that so few even think about anymore.   That doesn’t mean it should only be watched in the month of November.   There are a lot of other elements that make it a film that can be watched year round.                   What’s Cooking? follows four different families of different cultures as they prepare and celebrate Thanksgiving.   Each family has their own foods, customs, and problems.   Of course
