Criminal Minds

WARNING! Do not watch this show at night!   It is terrifying.   So what do I do?   I watch this show at night.                 An FBI team of criminal profilers travel around the country solving cases they have received.   The team does this by putting together a profile of the criminal.   They use this profile to narrow down who the criminal may be and what he or she may do next.   The profiles are created based on actions that have occurred and any other tiny details the agents may discover.   It is fascinating to listen to how the team comes to their conclusions.   Then the team does whatever they can to catch the person before any more harm is done.   A lot of the people they are looking for are serial criminals and do some gruesome things.   That is why it is not good to watch at night.   Some episodes are not too bad and are easier to watch.   I look forward to those.                    Why if I have such problems do I watch this show?   Aside from the scary parts,

The Milwaukee Brewers

To be completely honest, I have not watched a baseball game all season.   Not just the Milwaukee Brewers, but anybody.   I also have not paid full attention to who is where in the rankings.   That does not mean I have not been supporting the Brewers.   Despite my lack of attention, I always want them to do well and I am happy when they do.                 Sadly, the Brewers’ season ended recently.   They were playing for the National League title and the St. Louis Cardinals came out on top.   While this is disappointing, I am not in any way disappointed in the Brewers themselves.   They had a great season.   At one point I believe they were ten games ahead.   Then they made it into the playoffs by being number one in the central division, and had home field advantage.   It did take all five games to make it out of the first round of playoffs, but they did it.   Next it took six games for the Cardinals to advance to the World Series.   While the Brewers did not win, t

The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann

This is the start of another series.   Apparently I am really into series lately.   I am not sure why.   Maybe because with a series you can really get involved with the characters and watch them grow from book to book.   Or it could possibly be the excitement and anticipation for the next piece of the story to be released.   Hmm.   Who knows?   These are just my theories.   Onto the book.                              Tom is a Navy SEAL.   After receiving a severe head injury during a mission, along with getting in trouble for anger, Tom goes on leave and decides to visit his Uncle Joe.   Joe lives on the land of his best friend Charles and is Charles’s gardener.   Charles also has a daughter, Kelly, who was the love interest of Tom’s youth.   Tom does not expect Kelly to be at the house, so he figures he is safe from running into her.   Little does he know, Kelly has moved back to take care of her dying father.   When they see each other again…                 The roma

Five

This film is actually five short films all dealing with breast cancer.   A different woman is the subject of each one, but they are all connected through the oncology doctor.   While all of the women are facing breast cancer, none of the stories are the same.   Each one has a different situation and necessary treatment.   One woman has a double mastectomy while another needs an out-patient surgery.   Then there is what happens personally.   Some must go it alone as their loved ones become distant and leave, while others discover their love is stronger than they ever thought.   The films show that while people may be dealing with the same condition, no two situations are the same.                 I will be honest.   These shorts are sad.   How could they not be to some extent?   Despite this, they are well worth watching.   The stories are not only about the women.   I like how the effect this can have on men was included as well.   One male character had breast cancer hi

The Chocolate Bear Burglary: A Chocoholic Mystery by JoAnna Carl

Lee and chocolate ride again!   The Chocolate Bear Burglary is the second in the series I like so much.                 The town has decided they will be holding a teddy bear promotion.   In an effort to participate, Aunt Nettie accepts some antique chocolate molds to be displayed in her shop.   This seems like a great idea until the shop is broken into.   Nervous, as the molds still technically belong to someone other than the antique dealer, Aunt Nettie decides to return the molds.   There is just one problem.   The antique dealer is found dead.   The person to discover her is none other than Lee’s ex-step-son, Jeff, who spontaneously arrived in town.   Of course he quickly becomes a suspect.                 Lee has quite a few things on her mind at this time.   First there is the break-in at the shop.   Then there is trying to figure out who really killed the antique dealer, because it cannot be Jeff.   Next Lee has to figure out why Jeff is actually in town, th
