Sometimes I find movies I want to write about and don’t for some reason.   The two main reasons for this are A) I have to return the disc before I get the chance to write, and B) I don’t know if I have enough to say for a full post.   And, okay, sometimes I just don’t feel like writing at all. Film Reel /Artwork by Kate Dorsey                                 No matter what the reason for why I don’t create a full post for something, it still remains on my mind, because I do want others to see what I have seen.   Below are three films I did not write their own post, for one reason or another, but I still want people try for themselves and enjoy.          Gifted                 Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is trying to raise his niece Mary (McKenna Grace) as normally as possible.   Mary’s mother, Diane, committed suicide, leaving Mary in Frank’s care, and far away from their mother.                 With the help of his neighbor, Roberta Taylor ( Octavia Spen

Oh Danny Boy: A Molly Murphy Mystery by Rhys Bowen

I’m really not sure why I’m supposed to cheer for Molly and Daniel to get together.   Daniel jerks Molly around, doesn’t treat her well, then tries to control her.   After seeing him do all that, I’m supposed to want their relationship to work out?   I don’t think so.                 Captain Daniel Sullivan is in trouble.   He’s been arrested for accepting a bribe from a gang.   An action all those who truly know him know he would never do.   Yet, despite his stellar reputation, there is really only one person who will go out and clear his name.   That person is private investigator Molly Murphy . Molly is not exactly thrilled to be helping Daniel.   In fact, she has been doing her best to avoid him ever since their encounter on another one of her cases.   An encounter which has left her expecting his child.                 Before Molly even knows about the child, she agrees to help Daniel.   Despite how angry she is over his treatment of her (he still had a fian

I am not a Beatles fan.   Although, that is probably understating things.   I enjoy Beatles music, and I even own some thanks to a class I took in college.   But I don’t like the music enough to say I am a fan.   I don’t seek it out, or get excited when I hear one of their songs.   I just enjoy the songs when they happen to be played.   That’s why I say I’m not a fan.   Not exactly.   But I do understand how big of a role the Beatles played in musical and cultural history.   That’s why I understand how strange it would be if the Beatles suddenly didn’t exist. Guitar /Artwork by Kate Dorsey                      Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) has worked for years to find success as a singer/songwriter.   He is ready to quit all his attempts and go back to teaching when he is hit by a bus while riding his bike.   At the exact same moment Jack is hit, there is a worldwide blackout that changes everything.                 When Jack wakes up from his accident, he discov

Class Reunions are Murder: A Poppy McAllister Mystery by Libby Klein

If you’re looking for a funny mystery, this is it.   I laughed and chuckled all the way through this book.   The characters are quirky and fun, making me very excited to find out what happens to them next. Image provided by Kensington Books.                                Poppy McAllister does not want to go to her class reunion.   At all.   High school was a very unpleasant time for her, to the point she doesn’t even want to return to her New Jersey hometown for a visit.   Her best friend, Sawyer, insists it is time for her to return home and go to the reunion.   She wears Poppy down with her insistence, finally getting Poppy to agree to go to the reunion.   Still, it is with great reluctance Poppy returns home.                 Taking her cat, Figaro, with her, Poppy stays at her Aunt Ginny’s house.   As much as she does not want to be where she is, at least being away from where she lives will give her a much-needed reprieve from her controlling and judgm
