A Magical Match: A Witchcraft Mystery by Juliet Blackwell
Well, here is another series I’m
all caught up with. It’s a good feeling
to get caught up with a series. Now I
know everything that has happened and I am no longer behind. Also, I can move onto another series. At least I can until the next Witchcraft Mystery comes out.
Vintage
clothing store owner Lily Ivory is getting married, but not everyone is exactly
happy about this. Some have flat-out
disapproved. Still, Lily is happy, and
no one’s disapproval is going to get her to stop moving forward with her plans. She loves her fiancĂ©, Sailor, and she’s going
to marry him whether anyone else likes it or not. Implying she can clear his name from the
murder suspect list first.
The
person Sailor is accused of killing is Tristan Dupree, a man from Lily’s past. Tristan has arrived from Germany with the claim
that Lily stole something from him. Lily
doesn’t have any idea what Tristan is talking about. In all honesty, Lily doesn’t remember much
about the time she spent with Tristan.
It is something she has completely blocked from her memory. With Sailor in trouble, Lily is going to have
to force herself to remember.
Something
else Lily must worry about is the fact that her grandmother and her coven are
on their way to San Francisco. Instead
of taking a direct route, the coven has decided to take a lot of detours, and
it is unclear as to when they are going to arrive. To make this situation even more anxious for
Lily, her mother is on the bus. Lily has
barely spoken to her mother in years.
She does not have any idea what is going to happen when she sees her
mother for the first time.
Then
there is the battle over San Francisco.
The magic battle, that is. It’s Lily
and her friend (for lack of a better term) Aidan Rhodes against Renee Baker, “The
Cupcake Lady”. Renee wants to shift the
power of monitoring and controlling the magic of San Francisco from Aidan. He has had this position for a long time, and
it seems Renee will do whatever she can to make this change. Not sure what exactly Renee will do to
accomplish this feat, Lily makes sure to be wary whenever Renee is near. That is why she never eats anything Renee has
baked, no matter how good it may be.
And
we’re still not done with things for Lily to deal with. She is also not feeling well. Lily’s magic is struggling, and she seems to
have a cold. The thing is, Lily never
gets colds.
On
top of all of this, there is a double of Sailor walking around the streets of
San Francisco. It is this double that
got Sailor in trouble in the first place. So,
there is yet one more thing for Lily to figure out and handle. It’s a wonder she does not lose her mind.
I
am happy to say, that while not everyone is happy about Lily’s wedding to Sailor
(some for very selfish reasons), they’re all willing to come see her get
married. Fortunately, Lily’s close
friends are excited for her. With some
around her not having her best interests at heart, Lily is very lucky to have
her friends Maya and Bronwyn in her life.
