Happy Ever After: Book Four in the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts
I am sad to report, this is the last installment of a lovely series I have greatly enjoyed. How nice it would be to have the stories go on, but quartet does mean four and here we are.
The star of this book is Parker. She is the coordinator, organizer, and all-around fixer of the Vows women. Every thought, problem, and whim a bride may have goes through Parker, and at all times of the day and night. She is the one who truly makes sure the brides’ dreams come true. With this responsibility Parker leads a very controlled and precise life, and she likes it that way.
Then along comes Mal, or Malcolm, a mechanic who throws Parker’s life off balance. He reacts to Parker and truly sees who she is in a way no man has ever done before. This, of course, makes her quite uneasy. In fact, it makes her so upset she does not want to acknowledge her growing feelings for Mal. Eventually she does, and that is when her life begins to change.
Mal is such a good man it is hard not to fall for him. He is my favorite, after Carter. This was such a great way to end the series; a good hearted bad boy who loves and cares for his mother. There is not much room to go wrong.
This series was wonderful. I will miss it. But then who says I cannot just pick the books up and read again?
