NARI Spring Home Improvement Showcase

When I was younger my parents would stop and look at houses.  It drove me crazy and I became very bored as they stood and discussed the different aspects.  Then there were the long trips to the home improvement stores.  Although, I must admit, I did enjoy looking at and playing with bathroom and kitchen displays.  I do not know why this absolutely fascinated me, but it did.
With all that I felt when I was younger, it is quite ironic that now I absolutely love houses.  Which is why recently I spent two days touring and looking at them.  During the NARI Spring Home Improvement Showcase (NARI stands for National Association of the Remodeling Industry) I had the option of touring nineteen different homes and seeing what types of remodeling was done.  I saw nine different homes, which is a lot when you consider not all the houses are in the same county much less the same city.  Each location used a different design house and definitely different ideas.  Some places did one room, such as the kitchen, while others did whole floors.  A couple remodeled the entire house!  The funny thing is my favorite room of all that I saw was not even officially part of the tour.  There was this gorgeous library that I so badly wanted to take home.  It was not very large, but it was cozy with a beautiful window.  I could have stayed there all day.
The showcase has filled me with so many ideas all I want to do is create.  When I look at rooms I think about how I would change them, whether it is with just paint, or the actual structure.  I am so eager to get started.  Now I just need my own house.
