The Milwaukee Brewers

To be completely honest, I have not watched a baseball game all season.  Not just the Milwaukee Brewers, but anybody.  I also have not paid full attention to who is where in the rankings.  That does not mean I have not been supporting the Brewers.  Despite my lack of attention, I always want them to do well and I am happy when they do.
Sadly, the Brewers’ season ended recently.  They were playing for the National League title and the St. Louis Cardinals came out on top.  While this is disappointing, I am not in any way disappointed in the Brewers themselves.  They had a great season.  At one point I believe they were ten games ahead.  Then they made it into the playoffs by being number one in the central division, and had home field advantage.  It did take all five games to make it out of the first round of playoffs, but they did it.  Next it took six games for the Cardinals to advance to the World Series.  While the Brewers did not win, they gave a good fight.  This is farther than the Brewers have gone in decades.  While I am sure they are disappointed, I hope they are proud of what they accomplished as well.
As much as I cheered on the Brewers, I also took time to appreciate how the city of Milwaukee rallied around them.  It was good to see the city come together and support the local team.  I hope this camaraderie continues down the line, no matter how the Brewers perform.  Although I do believe that sometime soon the Brewers will win what they never have before, the World Series.
