Criminal Minds

             WARNING!
Do not watch this show at night!  It is terrifying.
So what do I do?  I watch this show at night.
An FBI team of criminal profilers travel around the country solving cases they have received.  The team does this by putting together a profile of the criminal.  They use this profile to narrow down who the criminal may be and what he or she may do next.  The profiles are created based on actions that have occurred and any other tiny details the agents may discover.  It is fascinating to listen to how the team comes to their conclusions.  Then the team does whatever they can to catch the person before any more harm is done.  A lot of the people they are looking for are serial criminals and do some gruesome things.  That is why it is not good to watch at night.  Some episodes are not too bad and are easier to watch.  I look forward to those.
Why if I have such problems do I watch this show?  Aside from the scary parts, this show is quite good.  Plus it has Shemar Moore.  In many ways that should be reason enough.  I have watched Mr. Moore since his soap opera days.  But this is getting off subject.  All the regular cast members are good.  I like how they each seem to have a bit of a specialty but know how to bring it all together in order to solve the case.  To me, one of the best characters is the computer expert Penelope Garcia.  In so many ways the cases could not be solved without her.  I also like the genius, Dr. Spencer Reid, although they usually just call him Reid.  There are so many elements to his character that one would probably not suspect on first sight.  I always wonder what else the writers are going to reveal about him.  Then there is Mr. Moore’s character, Derek Morgan.  He is the tough guy, but has a really good heart.  Those are just three of the main members.  There is also J.J., Hotch, Rossi, and Prentiss.  There have been other cast members throughout the series.  As I watch in reruns, the ones I mentioned are the characters I am most familiar with.  Despite my watching reruns, new episodes are being produced.  Did I mention Garcia’s boyfriend?  He pops up every now and then.  I think he is sweet.
To recap: this is a creepy show that can easily keep a person up at night.  I recommend taping the show and watching it later or find a rerun during the day.  If you are still scared, well, you can always watch with someone.  Or…imagine Agent Morgan is coming to save you.  Just an idea.
